Fun Games to Play with Your Kids While Travelling
Going on a trip with your children can be a tiresome experience if you cannot give your kids enough reasons to enjoy the travel. But do not get worried! All it takes is ample preparation and lots of creativity, and you can get your tots excited and make them stay in their seats.
One of the best ways to keep them preoccupied is by bringing their portable video game players and letting them use these for a few hours at intervals. This is to give their eyes a rest and to also let them participate in the progress of your trip. You want to keep them entertained, but you also would not want them to miss out on the fun of going to new places because they were too absorbed in a gadget, would you?
When their video game time is up, you can engage them in a hunt for certain items that you will pass by on the road. For example, you can ask your kids to count how many barns you drive by. Or you can let them keep track of the names of the places that you pass by so that they can monitor if you are nearing your destination. This can also be a good way to update yourself with your present route and the progress you are making. If you are on the plane, you can instruct your children to find certain items on board as you describe them, then give out their names when the kids spot them. They will be eager to observe their surroundings and learn the labels of new things, too.
Colouring and activity books, favourite toys, and snacks, are also helpful backup tools for any trip.
